Anybody tried TWGS with Vista? I'm interested to know if there are any compatibility issues.

I know my brother got a puter with Vista installed, about 3 weeks later it started crashing a lot, now it is being repaired by HP where he got it from.

LOL, haven't decided if I want to upgrade or not. TW computer really doesn't need to be, unless there is network issues.

I run my TWGS on an XP machine but my main computer is vista. I installed TWGS on the vista as a test server and to edits games. Everything seemed to work just fine. I did a lot of edits to a game that I started editing on an xp machine using tedit in vista. The game ran perfectly on the vista machine but when I moved it to my main XP machine I had many of the edits, including ships and mapping edits vanished. I do a lot of custom universe stuff and while you could plot a coarse and the automatic route would show correctly as it should be, when you tried to go there the sectors would not be adjoined. The plotter would show sector 100 as adjoined to 200, and I knew from my edits that they should be but when you got to sector 100, 200 was not adjoined. It was a real mess and caused me to close a game on bang day and and delay it for a week while I re did all the edits

I ran MTW on Vista for about a month with no problems with computer. My problem was Internet connection dropping frequently.
I am no longer running on Vista, not because it had problems, but moved to a hosted server running WIndows 2003 server. Didn't need server edition, but hey for $38.00 bucks a month, I couldn't resist, also loaded web and mail server on same server saving money on those to offset cost of new server.

Re: TW and Windows Vista
Once you are past the growing pains of learning Vista it is a great OS. But the learning curve is steep. As for TWs TWGS they run like they were made for the Vista OS. No problems or issues, with these programs.
