Having had to shut down and reinstall the OS on my server thngs are not working anymore. The gameserver starts and claims to be running, everything looks to be working, yet external systems cannot connect. Does anyone have ideas on what to try.

-Thanks

are you sitting behind a router or firewall?

Do you have a static IP address that does not change?  If you router went down I would think it possible for the IP to change.  I would also check the router itself to make sure it is forwarding to the computer you are running on.

I have a static IP routed through to a router with built in firewall (that looks to be configured the same as before when the game ports passed to the server) as the frontside to the server. The server has antivirus with some limited firewall ability ( a newer version of the same I was using before, upgraded to continue getting virus def files. )

WAN IP -> internal IP at the router looks right
The defined ports look right...

Does anyone know if virusscan 8.5 locks 2000-2005 by default?

I would start by disabling all of your firewall software and i bet you chase this down in no time.

SG is right, and I would also make sure port forwarding is set correctly on your router.
What software firewall are you using?
