Re: game info
Its asking for a Desc file ..
Archy made a cmd batch file that will do all your games at once. really handy , but you have to understand dos commands a little to tweak it to your directory style.
Maybe hit him up on Team Speak 3 or email me you directory path to TWGS games and what your game folders are named .. like TW-A or Game-G or whatever and I probably can send you a tailored one just for you.
I sent it to J.P. about 4 to 6 months ago .. said it would be nice addition to the twgs cause it makes all the main menu "!" files for you.
I always hated going to a site and press that key just to get a message that there is no description file for that game.
peace out

Re: game info
Yes, this is a very underutilized feature. I could certainly improve on it. I wonder, is it that it's not clear what that "info file" is about? Or is it just something that players seldom use on the server so gameops don't bother to make them?
One thing I could do is create a stock info display, then you could override that with your own file.

Re: game info
Speaking of, we need to better document the command-line parameters that generate game CLV scores and the like.

Re: game info
I don't recall if that's documented anywhere. I know you can get some command line help by running TWGS /?. Maybe I could add a /? screen to TW2002?

Re: game info
I found it in the old changelogs from years back, but yeh I've never seen any full docs on it. Years ago I wrote a script to do it, then found out that TW could do it for me in a batch file. A help screen would be nice.

Re: game info
Yeah, I created that by request of Eleq but never got around to documenting it, I guess.

Re: game info
Vid gave me a script written by archie, easily editable to suite your directory structure but the version he gave me is set to the default gamea gameb gamec etc
then all you need to do is select the correct file for each game in the description folder.

Re: game info
I havent been coding for a while so i am not sure if this is compatible with the latest release of TWGS.
Any necessary config changes would be made at the top of the file and are noted within the file. Place this file in your TWGS folder and run it from there.

Looks like it'll take a bit of minor editing, but I think I can get it running. EDIT: Actually all I needed to do was change the server name and give it the name of the DescFile Folder... it worked like a champ! Thanks again!
