I received a message from a user asking for a v1 server to be spun up so they could play with come of the old exploits in the previous release, so I offered to look into it.
So while I dug into my file server I don't think I've ever spun up a v1 server, as I believe I've only hosted v2. Well I found the install files, and my notes from John as far as my registration after I maxed my server licensing.
TWGS Key: ******************
TWGS Code: ****-****-****-****
TW3v3 Key: ******************
TWv3 Code: **********
Gold COde: ****-****-****-****
I just seem to be running into an issue.
Under Configure -> Registration
"TWGS Key" matches up perfectly, I'm assuming the following "TWGS Code" then corresponds to "TWGS Registration Code".
Although under the "Enter TW2002/Gold Codes..."
There are additional fields that don't match up to the registration info I received such as "BBS Name" and "Sysop Name" meanwhile for this entire section I only received the following from John:
TW3v3 Key: ******************
TWv3 Code: **********
Gold COde: ****-****-****-****
If memory serves me right i think "TW3v3 Key" is what corresponds to "BBS Name"
If that is correct that just leaves me with Sysop Name, which isn't allowing me to use my usual handle such as I'm using here.
Either way no matter what I enter the server always reports:
"TWGS is not registered"
Just curious if any of you had any thoughts for feedback before I reached out to John and start diffing through an old email account to try and find our communications from 2012 -2014ish (I think any way)
