Problems w/ v3.09 over a WIN98 LAN

 Hello. I've been a long time TW BBS player and I recently downloaded the new v3.09 to try it out with my friends. I tried to set it up over a Win98 LAN but whenever people try to play it remotely the program opens a blank screen and sometimes displays an error message asking to check and see if the program is in use already (but not always). Does anybody have any ideas, or has anybody ever played tradewars 2002 over a win98 LAN? Thanks.
