Anyone know whats up with thedeepsouth? I've tried getting on the last few days but everything including the website seems to be out of commission. . .

On a sort of related note- is there a good list somewhere of active twg servers running today? Especially particularly fast ones like deepsouth. Better yet, where do the elite play? That would be best for learning. Thanks.

One of the fastest and best servers on the net today is AlienBase (twgs.alienbase.net:23). You'll find a top-notch mix of edits, a dedicated, fast server, and some of the best competition in Tradewars. Just doing a # after you log in will generally show am impressive list of top names, but like any other server, there are busy times and slow times.

Another popular spot for the "elites" is the Puppet Playground (twgs.puppetplayground.com:23).

A new server that many top players have been playing on recently is Black Sun. (blacksun.gotdns.org:23).

One server I suggest you stay away from, because of the numerous complaints from top players about duping, the sysop playing in his own games as "nuke" (among other names), and other sundry complaints, is Imperial Outpost. Play there at your own risk; I've had bad experiences all 3 times I played there.
