I found a sector that has a lvl 1 citadel and a port that is under construction. Construction will be completed tommorrow. At this point and time I just want to destroy everything I find. Can I attack the port? If I do..will it attack back? Is it even worth my effort to blow up? Should I just blow the planet up?

If you destroy the planets then the port will not advance .. the only reason to destroy it is because it's annoying to see it in the logs every day ..

you can attack the port, I think it should be fairly cheap. You can also blow up the planet to stop the port, but if someone builds another planet, the port will continue again.

If you have the time and resources to blow it all up then it might be worth your time. However, you will not be able to rebuild the port in that sector for some time.
