Has it ever been mentioned that the sellback price is determined by the number of times a ship has ported? With 0-30 ports, the sellback is 90%. And after 830 ports, the sellback is 10%. So your ship's value decreases by .1% every time you port. You should be aware that this affects the sellback of figs and holds too... so use new ships if you are selling off planet figs for cash.

That's handy to know, Elder and could account for something that happened to my corpie recently. I'll check that out.

Thanks alot for this. I was wondering why a COLT we snagged from another corp was only worth 89K...

If I'm not mistaken, whether or not the ship is equipped with a fusion drive system affects the sellback price. Those with one will sell back at a higher price than one without one, even if they've ported the same number of times.

That is True the fusion drive equiped ship will retain its value on resell.

Not true. The Transwarp Drive has no bearing... although its worth mentioning that the Main Drive is the only component that doesn't follow the 90-10% rule. This one component resells for 99% for 0-30 ports, and bottoms out at 80% after 830 ports. And as before, the change is linear.

I said nothing about the transwarp drive, I said the fusion drive. In stock games, the ISS and later ships are equiped with one, the Merchant Freighter and earlier are not.

What is the advantage of having a fusion drive besides the obvious better resell price? Does it mean less fuel ore for t-warping?

From what I've been told, the only advantage is the resale price. I haven't ever really done much testing with it.

That is the only advantage of the fusion drive , nothing else.
