I am in a game on DOBBBS.COM in which I have TWICE had my ISS "dissappear" for no apparent reason when I was using a different ship (Colt). The game is V 3.09 (Door, non-MBBS), 10K sectors. Both times this has happened, I was in a Colt doing planet trading or resource/colo moving when the server went down for unknown reasons. By the time I got back into the game the next day, my ISS was gone! This ship had been left parked in my Home sector, a dead end bubble at least 8 warps away from any known MSL or Fedspace sector, and there has been no mail message stating that the Feds had repossesed the ship, or anything like that. There are NO other players in this game, so I know that no one could have invaded and captured the ship, and my sector is a long way from any areas where Ferrengi are active (if that makes any difference, I don't know). At first I suspected that the "REMOVE DERELICT SPACECRAFT" command was being run from Tedit, but my other parked ships, a Gunstar and another Colt, were not being affected, only my ISS. Has anyone seen something like this before? Is there some known bug in this game version that causes ship repossession at Extern even when the ship is NOT parked in Fedspace? Thanks! |

Have the sysop look in tedit to see if the ships are actually still there. I suspect we're looking at a case of database corruption here and he or she might try trashing the mailfile. Just a fact of life for the old door version. |

Not sure myself, hopefully team EIS knows more or can comfirm. My guess is that it was in a MSL. (Major Space Lane) at extern and they take it like it was in fed space. I know they clear the lanes of fighters, mines, limpits, planets loose cit. lvls, etc.. but not sure on ships left there. MSL's are routes from terra to star dock. as well as to Rylos and Altha Centri. |

In all current versions, unmanned ships aren't removed from msls. Also, according to his post, only the ISS's were gone, no other ships. I have absolutely no experience with 3.09 games, however. It may be a bug, it may be corruption, it may be a sysop playing in tedit, I really couldn't say. |
