Was the person you were attacking below 1000 experience points? If so you cannot attack someone who has below a 1000 experience points.

He said that the person was a red. Perhaps they had a ship there too, you can't attack unmanned ships at SD.

must have had the other ship cloaked? not sure what you mean by that. you can't cloak an empty ship, you must be in the ship to cloak it. the only way capt. z would stop you is if he was good and below 1000 exp pts or if the ship was empty. What might have happened is when you went to attack he was there, but before you got the attack off he transported out, thus leaving an empty ship for capt. z to get all hot over.

If you were the only 2 things at SD..no ships..no offline players..no good players under 1000 exp..etc. Any of the previously mentioned items could have possibly screwed it up for you. If both of you were in fact red then there was nothing wrong with your attack even if the other player was under 1000 exp, red doesnt have a exp barrier like blue does.

He may have also been on the Dock in a different ship.

No, I was meaning that he was cloaked in another ship at SD and just left the colt there. He is over 1000exp(which doesnt matter...cause he's evil) and he wasnt online. So, this is the only alternative that I can come up with.

You are lucky Capt Z didn't destroy you; the Fed doesn't like to see Reds at Stardock

Hmm...I'm not sure if that was a joke, but to avoid confusion, in reality capt. z could care less if a red is in fed or not. He won't do anything to you, unless of course you attack him(but that goes for blue/good players too) or turn red while in an iss and decide to start moving around.

all spare ships are safe at sd, if your red or blue it don't matter. spare ships left at sd or any fed space will be reposesed at extern.

Unless of course you hold a lock on them, or keep them at the sell prompt, or both. Doh, there i go again, giving away secrets.
My point was you can try an attack an empty ship or a low exp good as many times as you want and all capt.z will ever do is yell at you, there's no fear of him getting really tired of it and blasting you into space dust. He's all talk and no action, kinda like my first girlfriend.
