Hi folks, quick question that has been bugging me. What is the standard way to get -100 evil or +500 good in a new game? I always thought that you got -1 alignment for jetisoning colonists. Apparantly this isn't true anymore. If I have alignment of 0 and I kill 50 colonists, my aligngment is still 0. But if I have alignment of 5 and I kill 50 colonists, it drops to -45. What on earth is going on? What precisely is the rule for how alignment is lost from colonists? Surely there has got to be an EASY way to get -100 alignment? And on the positive side, how do you get to +500 if there are no evil players yet in the game to post rewards on? Thanks |

Thanks you need to have at least +1 align before jetting cols will work.. you loose 1 align point for every col you jet.. so if you're align is 100 and you toss out 101 cols, you'r align goes to -1 another thing you can do to loose one alignment point is to call the Grimy Trader -at dock- an Butthole. det'ing a planet wil cause you to loose alignment. as per my other post... in a sz game you get taxed right off.. therefore you get about +24 align. grab cols in your start ship and jet them on the way to dock, pop a few planets and you will be on your way to lower than -100 Alignment |

So if you jet 200 cols, that's -200. But that's not the only way. Another easy way is a combination of putting a bounty on someone (use the underground) to go slightly negative, then det planets the rest of the way. If you have a corpie you can also pod them, or kill their figs. For +500, post 500,000 creds on a red at stardock and apply for a commission... voila, 1k align. If there are no evils then you usually just upgrade ports or make planets. Having an evil is easier tho, and in an unlim... someone will always go evil. |

Lets not forget , -1 point per col , so Sing , jetting 200 cols will get you to -199 , +1 alignment - 1 = 0 , then -199 for the remaining cols . Also remember this can only be done once a day. So do it right the first time. As for 500 alignment with no reds , it can cost about 1.5 mil creds in g-torps but dont use atomics that will lower your alignment. Just another way that had not been mentioned yet. Hope this helps. P.S. Don't get sucked into the false seance of security that truces bring to new players. The only real truce is one where there is nothing to prevent/break a truce example : no figs , no dets , no mines , no photons there probably a few other things but you get the idea. |

Since we have no way to know what align anyone would be at, I clearly couldn't have meant that. All I meant was -200 plus your current alignment, to demonstrate the whole "1 align per col" thing. Quote: Just another way that had not been mentioned yet. Didn't I say "make planets" ? hehe... Upgrading ports also works pretty well too, since it usually helps to have an upgraded port in your home sector early on. 2 birds, 1 stone... that sorta thing. I don't like leaving a bunch of undetted planets lying around as that's cheap exp for other reds, but if you've got a mixed corp you can always split the duty. Quote: Don't get sucked into the false seance of security that truces bring to new players. Hehe... truces... laff. |
