If a player photons into my sector and I try to warp in a planet from another sector, does the game not give me access to the sector fig until the photon wave is over? Is it different if I have a lock on the fig already? Thanks.

I'm assuming it is there fighter, not yours. If the photon wave is active when you warp into the sector, then no, you cannont attack the fighter until the photon wave ends, at which point you either have to relog, or reenter the sector.

other than that, I dont really know what you mean.

You can only warp a planet to a sector if you have a fighter in that sector, OR you get a pre-lock on that fighter before the fighter was destroyed and before the lock decays. Photons have nothing to do with a getting a lock.

You have access to your fig even if it's photon dampened. As long as the fig is there, you'll get a lock.

Thanks for all the help, sorry I was not very clear. The figs were in my home sector, I was in another sector with a planet, a player photoned into my home sector and I could not get a lock on the figs. The only thing I can think is maybe I put in the wrong sector but the second time I tried the planet locked on the figs (would have been after the photon wave).

Hrm, well that'd be the first I've heard of it... but then again I don't typically pwarp into dampened sectors. If you get a chance to test it again, post the logs and details of the game (mbbs, gold, etc). Shouldn't be too tough, just have someone torp in announce on SS at the same time, then set a trigger to pwarp on the msg.

Figured I'd bring up an old post to ask a photon question, if your on a port at prompt does photon still effect you?

Yes, a port does not protect you. Altho the turn cost only happens when you port, so if you get torped on a port you can stay there if you need to.

The only thing that will protect you from a photon that I know of is a planet with a Level 5 Citadel and 200 (planet) shields. It doesn't matter if you are at the Planet, or Citadel command prompt. I believe that the shields will protect you if you are at the attack shield prompt. I think it has to do with the "on planet" flag.

I made a Planet Gridder based on this tid-bit of knowledge... one of the best scripts I've made 8)
