Unread post Recommended Settings?
Hey, I'm setting up a game for an existing community; the game will be a few vets and a lot of newbies.

Probably a few dozen players - any recommendations on what sort of settings we should run this game with? Are there any guidelines!

Thanks!

You will find as many opinions as players on how to setup a game. The link Helix gave provides good information.

I am an unlim turn player, and some settings make a game more enjoyable to me:
CPC setting of 50
No delays - rob, move, eprobe
Steal at 70%, rob at 50%
Planets - quick citadel build times
Photons - 1 to 2 second duration

There are some very good edits available for download depending on what type of game you are looking for. Edits by Vader, Big D, and Res are good and cover turn and unlim play.

Unless you have a specific reason to go with your own edit, try one that has been around for a while.

What are these "edits" you speak of?

Edits are games that other Sysops have made on their TWGS. When completed, they can export the game into a TWA file, which you can then import. Some Sysops have them available for download.

In our TradeWars Academy section, I cover Importing/exporting edits at this link:

Also, you'll need Gold registration in order to run editted games.
