The first one that I captured was defended by Ferrengi and surrounded by Ferrengi fighters. I now have Vulcan and Romulan Homeworld and have a nice trophy room with them and every alien ship that I have seen.

Then I found and captured another Ferrengal.

That one is #2. The first one that I captured was #3.

Does this happen when the SySop turns on gold aliens and chooses Ferrengi?

It happens when the sysop enables both Gold and classic Ferrengi. I'm not sure how to tell which Ferrengal belongs to which race, unless you happen to see a Ferrengi ship move into the sector and observe whether it gets shot by the Q-cannon. You can tell the Ferrengi themselves apart by the color of their race name in the sector display, or by the density of their Battlecruisers and Dreadnoughts. AFAIK, only Gold Ferrengi ever get a Scorpion.

Maybe that explains why I keep seeing Ferrengi, but I also keep seeing Vulcans and Romulans. All of them are homeless!

Usually, when I see a Ferrengi, he has very few fighters.

Have I deprived myself of a Scorpion?

Now, when Vulcans mess with my grid, they are often in Alien Scouts. I have not seen Romulans in those yet, but I took their planet more recently.

Aliens are of such little consequence in most games that I've never really paid much attention to how their spawning works. I know there are a lot of settings involved in Gold aliens, including the number of days it takes for certain ships to appear. Scorpions may not be activated at all, or there may be a small chance for them to spawn in the early days of a game.

When I came home from school I think that I had about twenty screens of aliens taking out my grid.

That gets annoying.

Somehow I accidentally hit [enter] one time too many and was not able to tell it to delete my messages, so I will go through all of those again, plus all kinds of new, but identical, messages.

You only have to see the first line of the dailies when entering a game then hit 'a' to about them .. and when your finally logged in type ';' and
answer yes to the delete message.

Its that simple.

So I'm playing a game with Gold Ferrengi and Regular Ferrengi Active...is there any gain to kill them or their fighters? Do I slow them down? Do they just respawn instantly? Anyone know what the rules are with these guys?

I would kind of like to get rid of my aliens. I assume the regular Ferrengi are long dead, but I would not have any way of telling, but I seem to spend all of my time replacing the fighters that they take out. I just need to stake out the biggest bubble and set up ports in there.
