Unread post Problem with borg
I have been trying for two weeks to capture a Borg ship "The Cube". Today i caught one and wiped out its fighters, ported in a L6 planet and activated the beam. Then surronded the sector with 2k fighters in every adjacent sector. I then began to attack its shields. I am in a Corp. Flag and i drop 8k figs on it and get its shields down to 50% and then it just warps out and bypasses my fighters, and back out into the shippling lanes. I follow it trying to attack it for 4 more sectors before it just vanishes. My question is can the Cube be captured? It seems to violate every thing I know about capturing ships.

Maybe it docked at a port.

Maybe someone slicked it up with Vaseline! LOL

I think it's similar to a player warping out. You think you have them surrounded, but poof... then you see them hit a fig a few sectors away.

Do you have a ship with an interdictor generator or a L6 planet to grab hold of the ship? And yes, if there is a port, they may port and be out of view, but still in the sector. Sometimes they stay down for a while. Be patient!

Yes i had a l6 planet there holding them.....or so I thought. Also they never hit my figs on the way out. Still had 2k in each surronding sector. That is why I am at a loss. Also where I lost him there was no ports for 2 sectors. But that is the only thing that would make sense is the port. How he got out is what is confusing me.

I believe they can retreat off the fig in sector.. the one in the sector you are attacking them in.. pick that fig up before you start the cap..

Archie is right , most surrounds also drop a fighter in the pivot sector.
Therefore the alien can not only retreat but warp away off of the fighter .. something players can not do .. its like a observer account blind warp away ...

When playing against aliens surround and remove your fighter in pivot
sector before you attack , and IG will not always hold them anyways.

Good luck and have fun.
