Monitoring of CLV is an example. I used it to gauge my relative cashing speed against another player, and some use it to monitor activity - big deal. Play like your opponent is always at keys, or find a dead game where you don't have to worry (and that isn't directed at anyone).

The in-game CLV didn't change. Only the "High Scores list" has a delay".

I don't monitor in-game, I use a watcher that periodically connects and checks the alignments when I am checking cashing.

In a time limit game you shouldn't be able to monitor that. You seem to forget that this is an option, and only needs to be toggled in time limited games. So in other style games you shouldn't even have an issue.

Thats the thing. Bug users and scripters that use loop holes are always going to be there. The sysop isn't going to know some things, the game designer isn't going to catch all of the bug/loopholes. So basically it's up to the players to shun anyone using these methods. Heres a few examples for a few people:

For Sing:
I enter a draft tourney with a fake account, and luckily I get on the corp you are CEO'ing. Five days into the tournament I backstab you, claim everything personal, and start a new corp. The game allows it, theres no rule against it, so does that make it right?

For Prom:
There's a game that allows 2 man corps. You enter a game as a solo player, I enter a game as a solo player, we play for 2 weeks against each other. You kill me one day, and I bring in a corpie to get me back in the game while you are trying to invade me. I know you were trying to invade me because I monitored the "High Scores List" and the "Daily Logs".
What do you think of that scenario? No rules against it, so it's fair play and nothing wrong with that right?

by that reasoning we should be shunning you. The guy that stated he would use any means that he thought might be used against him. BTW, what happened to your super/duper ss crawler script?

Laff. That coming from the player that looks for more loop holes than any other player. That script was released long ago so keep up with the times. That script will be useless as many of your bug using scripts will be soon.

Is this a reference to what Helix did with ss a few months ago?

That was not a bug by any stretch of the imagination. The more I found out about what he did and the reaction to it, in that game and here, the harder I laughed.

It was a coup. I'm laughing again.

I have some buggy scripts but none that use bugs so you will have to be more specific in your accusations. Typical response from you, And no you didnt release your super/duper ss crawling script after ICE either here, on navhaz, on your own site or any other public site I can find. I was looking forward to decompiling it to see whose code you used.

It's not against the rules, but nobody would corp w/ you again after it happened.

Well, maybe no one would play with 'fred fake name', but not sure how anyone but the host would know who it was.

The point was not lost on me, and I am not that smart.

No alias lasts forever. We always find out who the other players are. Would you really want to risk it?

I think I would trash talk the player for not being able to play heads-up as a solo. I have actually had that happen several times - the consensus seemed to be that the game is setup for x corpies therefore nothing is wrong with it. Best times is when the larger corp gets surprised and both SD'd and then locked out.

Monitoring the logs or scores really isn't an issue. I know if I SD'd you or you me, we would both count on the other one invading as quickly as possible. ;)

No, I wouldn't, and am sure D wouldn't either.... but, again, you are missing the point.

Ah... yes it was released right here in the forum as a link in the thread discussing it. I'm not going to do your work for you, so if you want to search for it be my guest. It is possible that that thread was deleted because of a certain moderators constant whining. I'm not going to mention any names, but his initials is Helix.

So it's an unwritten rule. Sort of like when a time limit is established that you abide by the time limit that's set, right?
