SITUATION REPORT – NEW GAME STYLE

Introduction
Since January 2009, Dodger and his friend Tiberius thought to an idea of Tw 2002 modification. Old fan of TW2002 and also of Star Wars universe, they were pleased to create a new kind of game. Each of them got their tasks, Tiberius as the specialist of Star Wars universe and Dodger as the apprentice scripter. In May 2009, the project was near of being a success, but for some personal reasons, Dodger couldn’t finish the job. In October 2009, Dodger was ready to continue the project and passed a couple of nights by week to complete the script, add new things and test it. On December 30th 2009, the project was completed and ready to be publish.

On January 1st 2010, you will be able join the new Trade Wars adventure in a completely new environment of Star Wars

GAME A – Star Wars Rules the universe (mod by Dodger).
This game was created to play with corpies in a Star Wars environment and trying to take a place in this universe… Roleplaying and trade competition are the keys of the game. We want to make fun and achieve the main Goal.
MAIN GOAL : Claim all planets in the universe or be the owner
SECONDARY GOAL : Claim the Death Star or Hoth.


Description of the environment.
You will encounter many aliens like Yuuzhan Vong, Imperial, Rebel, Hutt, Hapans, Corellians, Bothans, Chiss and Yevethas. You can find new kind of planets and a universe with 375 planets generated randomly with specific needs. All names are generated with Star Wars’s Bank names. You will also be able to buy and/or encounter over 52 different ships. Also, the Katana’s fleet is hiding in the space. Will you be the first to find it and retrieve it for yourself or your corps? On sub-space channel 54, you will be able to know the situation of planet’s ownership. Which players or aliens owned more planets? Sw Stat Bot will be there to send you fresh news.

20,000 sectors
1000 turns per day
-TRUCE 3 DAYS


With a code of conduct that will be post soon. It will be oriented for Claiming's Competition, Developping your Trade Empire, War against Aliens and corporations and players, roleplay and some actions will not be tolerated as put a Fig in each sector you visit... you will be able to protect and/or put some figs to Twarp you, but not in each sector of the universe.

Many of your ships are too similar.
Pare down the list.

With 20 ship types one should have a guardian bonus don't you think?

perhaps a few less aliens races with fewer individuals.
if you don't know how the different alien flags work there are many here on the forum to explain it .
set the aliens to ignore each other. They are invading each others planets and mothing all the trophy planets out.

other than that it is a cool edit. Good work.

For the ship list, it's normal that there are some similar to others. We compare "real" stats from the SW Databank and convert it to trade Wars... But, there are each time a little difference. Some ship were created for only alien uses and aren't sell in Stardock.

For aliens, we created almost the behavior of the races in SW and we don't want to reduce them... Maybe we should think about the idea that some of them will be for individual... not the Imperial but maybe hutts or Correlians or Bothans should be in small group or alone.. I'll speak of that with my friend Tiberius. My script generating that game cannot be too much flexible, i'm limited if i don't want to pass an other month to change it... My work isn't to be a sysop in life, so my family and friends and my work take a lot of time and cannot be trade with Trade Wars... ironic.

For the alien behavior "claiming planets", we want as SW, have races fighting each other and it will be more interactive for the story and the event that it will occur in the futur. see ya.

Your missing some important dynamics as to HOW the software works. NOT how you want it to work.

There are some very good sysop's on this board that understand the alien settings.

Lets wrap this universe up , the aliens moth for us so it should be over before truce or short order.

If we don't win , it will be probably due to data corruption from aliens.

Lets see how many of us it takes to put an end to this game for 2010 ;)

Vid Kid, I'm not sure what is alien data corruption that you speak of ?
I will send my code of conduct and the way you play with your friend isn't the way I was thinking the game must be played...
Your knowledge of the game is so much advance that you win every game with some combo of red and blue techniques.
I was worried about that. I worked a year for that and now on my server you destroyes almost 30% of planets... the goal was to claim them and not destroy them...

First off I want to say kudos to Yop Solo for all the effort put into this edit. I'm glad to see sysops working on server side scripts to give an old game some new dimensions. But as you've seen there's always gonna be someone who want's to muck things up. But there are ways to edit the game to help encourage the type of play you want. For instance editing all the ships to hold zero detonators and genesis torpedoes will prevent people from destroying existing planets and help prevent overloading sectors. Reducing the number of turns will slow the game down. Adding a time limit will prevent 24/7 scripting. Also you have the corp size set to zero which is actually unlimited corp members - for solo play you need to set the corp size to 1. I believe Ice9 has a FedSweeper script that keeps the sectors around fedspace clear. Keep in mind this is a first bang for a new game type and there's bound to be some kinks that need to be worked out. It may take several tries but you'll eventually get it were you want it. Keep up the good work!

Thanks you very much Scrat. These recommandations will help me to change the parameters that are used to muck up the universe i'd tried to create. I got a lot of things to understand to get the way i'd like to evolve that game.

We have Captured the planets and only blew up a few low level ones so your comments are not correct.
No one needs to babysit a level 3 "U" planet. We have a grid of less than 500 sectors. Fed space is not blocked. There are no more than single figs in any sector but one anyway. Any lawnmower will go right thru them.

Now on to some real input by a PLAYER.

The trophy planets are ALL MASSIVELY OVERLOADED with COLOS!

When the setting says max colos 100000 that means that 50000 is max production.
Fixing the overloads on the planets means spending millions of figs to kill off the colos or millions of turns to jet then into space. As we only get 2000 turns then that means wasting figs to fix this.

Level 0 or Level 1 trophy planets in Alien space are worthless and the player is forced to blow them up except that some of them have huge levels of colos on them.

ALien software bug fill up the NON ALIEN planets in alien space with max product..This is called the Alien Software Bug.

Other than these few issues I am enjoying the edit alot.
