The best solution to trouble posts...Part Deux
Im honestly tired of hearing all the taunts. Ive tried to let Helix deal with this as a mod but to an extent there are individuals that are just trying to egg mods on. Bored of it. Period.
Ill make it clear, if you want to argue a point do so. Have heated debates, argue a subject....but Im tired of the back and forth between mods and individuals that just want to argue about everything.
Helix has locked topics as he has seen needed, If a member comes to me to complain of a locked topic that they would like to contest then PM me. Period.
If I see anymore arguing about this petty crap I will personally lock the topic and consider a temp ban of the individuals that derail a thread by egging a mod or another member. If you are having fun and hijack a thread fine, lets have fun with it.....the negative crap will no longer be tolerated. PERIOD.
As the board admin I have been super quiet about this trash. Its not fair for ANY mod to have a power trip and lock topics for no reason or for personal reasons. Its also unacceptable for members to constantly egg on a mod to lock the thread or to derail a topic so that a mod has to lock it.
This warning goes for EVERYONE, mods, members, and Ferrengi. I do not have the patience to read through every thread to look for rules be broken, I will spot check and will also respond to PM's. Sorry that my first real action as an Admin here is through this post.
We need to keep OD just that...OPEN....PLEASE PLEASE make things interesting, keep arguments general and not too personal. NO personal attacks, if you disagree...OK...who cares...say so. MOST of us are adults and can tell when someone is starting a fight...im not blind or stupid...not completely atleast.

Re: The best solution to trouble posts...Part Deux
So what are the guidelines of this forum. The current description is:
Talk about anything on your mind, TradeWars or not. But please, post game playing/hosting questions in the appropriate forum, and keep the discussion civil.
Have these guidelines changed? Are there certain topics we can discuss and some we can't? I am seriously curious about this, because I've seen a lot of threads locked or moved that didn't break any rules according to the above description.
Edit: So from what I've read the guidelines should read like this.
Talk about anything on your mind as long as the moderator doesn't think that it is Sniping, trolling, personal attacks, thread hi-jacking, Posts may be moved or edited at any time and the moderators decision is final. If you don't like it, you can leave this forum and go somewhere else. Please post game playing/hosting questions in the appropriate forum.

Re: The best solution to trouble posts...Part Deux
Thanks, Mob.
I just want to add that once the moderators and forum staff have made a decision on a matter, whether or not you agree with that decision, you're expected to accept it and move on. If you're not happy with that, you are free to find another site on which to express that opinion. Posts in this forum that complain about the decisions of the forum staff are not welcome. Such posts are just a waste of everyone's time. Do we really need every other post to be "are you gonna lock this thread now?". Sheesh.
If you have an issue, make a complaint. But once Mob and I make a final decision about it, the only options you have are accept it or find another site.

When you have an issue, make a private complaint. We're not going to rehash every locked post. Feel free to follow the rules as you understand them, and if you have a problem, we'll deal with it as it comes. Let's move on.

Actually the posts I locked had to do with "keep the discussion civil" so no, the guidelines have not changed. Sniping, trolling, personal attacks, thread hi-jacking will not be tolerated, its that simple. H

Use common sense, please refer to my original post for clearification. BigD im glad your here, and you've had some civil posts since your return. OD is about whatever you want! POST jokes, post something that will start a debate about the game or off topic...dont care. Its the petty little pokes back and forth...like I stated..I KNOW when someone is trying to start a fight. I hope that as adults we all do, if for some reason your oblivious to the fact that your starting a fight...I will help you see it.. John Pritchett wrote: Thanks, Mob. Re: The best solution to trouble posts...Part Deux
It has nothing to do with the game, Cruncher, it has to do with a trend of Farley attacking everything we do or say on the forum. And "piece" can have a very negative connotation. I just wanted to know where he was going with that.

Sometimes you have to give someone a piece of your mind so you can have peace of mind.
