I prefer when my players tell me they may be logging in from work, so I see their two IP's, or some players regularly travel and thus have different IP's. Some employers block ports used by games in the firewall, so an employee has to use a proxy to get past the firewall, but some firewalls also block known proxies. So theoretically an employee could find a proxy the firewall doesn't know about and still get out.

Not all employees are that network savvy, some don't even clear their browser history when visiting online dating sites. LOL

I agree so allowing those bugs are acceptable. Thats what I said, we already allow bug use. Those aren't bugs is my point. A bug is a flaw in the program that results in an unexpected outcome that once discovered becomes exploited by the few if it gives them an advantage.

No, they're not. Mega rob is an option in the menu. A feature is, by definition, not a bug. It was a bug originally, but the community liked it and asked for it to be made a feature, and the author agreed. At that point, it ceased to be a bug. Stacking alien planets doesn't seem like a bug, either, but JP would have to confirm that. Given that they cannot be destroyed and have special properties by design, and it has been possible to stack them for a very long time through multiple releases, I would assume that this is by design and again, not a bug.

Re: Should traders be allowed you use Proxies?
Shadow is correct... Neither of these are bugs. Let's see if I can explain. To get a list of planets I would have to do something like: Code: SELECT $Planets FROM ALL_PLANETS WHERE $Sector = CURRENT_SECTOR To get a list of planets, excluding alien planets, Code: SELECT $Planets FROM ALL_PLANETS WHERE $Sector = CURRENT_SECTOR AND $PlanetNumber > ALIEN_RACE_COUNT All the planets are in the same master planet list, so the programmer would have to ADD that extra bit of code, or it would count all the planets.

Well, a bug could also be something that puts a player at a disadvantage, like the one we recently discovered that disables transport for allplayers on a corp. There is no advantage to this bug, because you can only disable your OWN corp. A bug can also just be something annoying, like an orphaned sector. You can't get stuck in one, like a black hole, but it can mess up your map. The black hole WAS a bug, but it was fixed many years ago. Anything the Designer didn't intend to happen IS a bug. The problem is that TradeWars is full of Red Herrings, so the only person who can tell the difference is JP. It is also hard or maybe even impossible to actually catch a player using a bug. A Gameop can't spy on all the players 24/7 :/
