Here is a page I've been working on for awhile , I keep saying the same things game after game to players
So I made this page for them.
Now I like to share it with some Swath users that have an interest

Nice page. One thing you may want to know, number 2: "2. Buy max holds ALL at once , never buy a few .. it is a waste of credits" is incorrect. It costs just as much to buy holds one at a time as it does to buy them all at once. I just ran a test on it to make sure.

I disagree, the more holds you already have when you go to buy more, the more it will cost to get more. Experienced this many times.

Before you decide to disagree with me, perhaps you should run some actual tests. If we wanted to pull "facts" out of thin air, what you say is fine. However, if we want real facts, you need to run real tests. I have done this, and they support what I said.

You are right. It appears to cost more because of the price displayed at the menu. But it comes out the same.

I banged a test game with default setting and no edits except to start with 1,000,000 credits.

After going to Stardock and buying a COLT and only holds.

The 1st test buy one hold at a time had 292,162 credits left.

2nd test I bought all 200 holds at once and I had 292,162 credits left.

I'm always amazed at how I always seem to learn something new about the game all the time.

The cost of holds increases cumulatively rather than on a linear scale based on the number of holds your ship has. If your ship starts with 50 holds and the base price per hold is 500 (this is just an example) your first hold will cost 500, your second 550, your third 605, the fourth 665, etc. I'm sure 10 percent is not the proper per hold increase, but I used it for ease of math.

In other words, whether you buy 1 hold at a time or 200 holds at a time, there is no difference in the final cost. When you have 200 holds the 201st hold will be computed at the same cost whether you buy it as a single hold or within a block of 50 holds.

Ok , thank you for checking this out
I will retract that hint seeing I was wrong and now I guess in games I'll get my holds as I can afford them

not to throw salt in any wounds, but hadnt you ever noticed, lets say you have 5 holds, and the next 1 hold costs 250 credits, but lets say you buy 200, and it costs say, 500000, cant you see that, 250 X 200 isnt anywhere near 500000 (maybe this is a bad example cause its only 1 zero away, but that is a 450000 credit zero)
anyway, salt in the wound, salt in the wound
(has anyone ever done that? does it hurt that bad?)
