Unread post SysOp Script - StarDock Ship Fire Sale
The script will provide a "fire sale" on ships at dock for a specified period of time in minutes (<=60). The discount is between 5 and 17% of the original cost, but you can edit that in the script source at:
getRnd $discount 5 17

Upon completion the script will reset the original ship values. If the script crashes, you can re-run to restore the saved values.

Warning: I have not tested in an edit with deleted ship records. I would strongly suggest testing on an inactive edit that you have backed up and if you experience no issues, then on an active identical edit. In other words, if you are going to use it on an SZ edit, test on a SZ before using this in a live game.

Warning2: When "signed" TWAs come into effect, this will probably unsign them and may require modification.

The message sent when the sale is run is similar to:

# NOTICE: Grimytrader Announces a Ship Fire Sale!
# All ship base prices reduced by 17%.
# Come in now and a Standard Issue
# that originally sold for 41300 is yours
# today for only 34279 credits!!
# Sale prices are in effect for 3 minutes only!
# -+- Trade-ins Welcome -+-
# If you don't trade now, I can't save you any credits!
