For those interested in a sneak peak at the new Bot Link
and something to do with it.

This is a script package almost ready to run.

You will need to test this out at the only working Bot Link game
available at this time.

telnet://twgs.classictw.com:2003 <--- as sysop or port 23 for player
but you can go in as sysop and play as a player.

Access <T> to play <E> to Tedit <L> for Bot Link

Game password is : sandbox

SO_Sweeper.ts
14_Login.ts

A sweeper script is a sysop script to sweep the adjacent to fed sectors
for limpits , armids , fighters over 1 and planets , it will also clear any
nav haz after removing planets as well.

This is only an example to show a use for the Bot Link and to
maybe inspire others to try and write something and share.

Thanks, Vid! Your work on porting some of your TEDIT scripts to Botlink has been very helpful in testing the current Botlink functionality.

This sweeper script shows the basics of how to interact with game data, even using some record locking to make it multiplayer-safe. It should be more efficient than doing the same thing with TEDIT. But Botlink will allow you to take it to another level, integrating this functionality with the game. Maybe you could have a Fed or other boss moving around doing the actual sweeping, generating sector events and posting daily log reports and mail to the effected players. Maybe you could allow players to bribe the Feds to ignore a sector or two, for a tidy sum (within limits). Gameops like Vid have been able to interact with the game through TEDIT for some time, but it'll be exciting to see what they can do with these new tools at their disposal.
