I wrote a prototype of an HTML5-based client that also happens to work on a phone: Attachment: tw-mobile.png [ 61.07 KiB | Viewed 6744 times ] It uses HTML 5 websockets for fast two-way communication and renders with a dos437 true type font, so you get all that stuff like copy/paste for free. It is a bit glitchy still, but functional. I think this app would work best on the same box as the TWGS server, especially when combined with server-side scripts, which I plan to add next. Think of it like having a twxproxy running on the TWGS server + a light-weight HTML client. The terminal as is doesn't work well for a touch-based mobile device, but I think with some contextual input options like the aformentioned mouse overlays, my goal of catching up on a game from my phone or laying on the couch with my tablet would be within reach. |

Is this something that would need to be set up to host on a server, and then have the server send the data via telnet, or is this something that you would be the one doing the hosting? |

Technically, it would work either way, but for performance, I think it would make the most sense on the TWGS server or close to it to avoid the two hops for every bit of data. I want to add some basic data parsing and storage, then some scripting capability, then I'd say it is ready for trial. I tried the Flash client, and while nice, I felt it was too plain. I don't need a fancy HUD (although it is nice) but basic awareness and scripting is key to play the game I think. |

Let me know if you need a server to test with. I am running the latest TWGS server in an actual datacenter. I am more than happy to help out where I can. |

I am running the latest TWGS server and am willing to test an HTML/Mobile client setup. Ping me if you are interested. Everything I run is Linux/Windows and sits in a datacenter. |
