Re: Subspace Crawler -> To Grimy's
An interesting script. Reminds me of the radios we use that have the "scan" function. Now all we need is someone to create the SS_Upper_Lower_Sideband.cts script. Ran it here and no issues Kaus.

Re: Subspace Crawler -> To Grimy's
Future revisions may have User defined scan limits, 60k > 1 Scan, Random (Emulate mombot GetRND 101 60000),Multi Member Corp scan and Corp Abort. Just depends if i wanna go any further with this specific script or not. I will be posting acouple more scripts including my AR_Gridder sometime soon when I work out some user options.

Legion wrote: I was being serious. No smack intended. Fair enough, to my knowledge this is the first "public" SS crawler. To put it in perspective. There are 86,400 seconds in a day. At 1.5 Seconds you can run 57,600 subspaces in one day's time At 3.0 Seconds you can run 28,800 subspaces in one day's time At 5.0 Seconds you can run 17,280 subspaces in one day's time <- (The minimum time In my opion of actually getting a channel) At 10.0 Seconds you can run 8,640 subspaces in one day's time I post this pretty obvious math to help clarify how unlikely it is to find enemy chatter. While possible, you have to consider most automated bot scripts run a banner every 5 minutes or so. It's pretty darn hard without joint effort's and/or targetted scanning to really reliably hit subspaces in a consistant manner.

Re: Subspace Crawler -> To Grimy's
So. either the target corp has to have almost constant chatter since you will only be listening to the specific channel for a couple seconds (and for almost the whole day) - which Ive never seen. or extremely to the 87th power .. lucky.

Re: Subspace Crawler -> To Grimy's
I suppose there are strategies that could be used to up the chances. Running the script when you know that the other team is running SDT for example, that would require a great deal of radio chatter on there part.

Pretty much since the end user will only be on your SS if ever for a matter of seconds. They either need to catch some chatter/bot banner or/and get extremely lucky. There are ways to making it alittle more consistant but even then your just increaseing the odd's you still have to overcome possibly never finding any SS even though your divesting allot of reasources into scanning.

If this is the only way to win, you really need to get better skills..... no smack just my 2 cents.

Re: Subspace Crawler -> To Grimy's
That isn't the kind of thing you use to win, since it has such a low hit rate and it's crazy easy for ppl to switch SS chans. It's the kind of thing you have fun with, and if you get lucky and it provides some info then you can use it to create a little chaos.
