Has anybody played with Swath 2.0 and its Sync feature? It sounds basically like what twxsync did but now combined inside swath.

I was wondering if it allows for different applications to work with it sending TWX packets as defined in their protocol long ago with twxsync. I was thinking that one could use that feature to allow a app communicate and stay informed of database changes therefore eliminating the constant connection required which drains phone battery life??

does with do a push notification type thing? or does it require constant connection? or is it even possible currently?

I can't even load it, it crashed even on a new dbase. I've sent Stein my bug report.

I don't think this is the TWX sync protocol. It does allow encrypted syncing of data between peers. I tested a beta version with VID months ago, and it seemed to be working well.

The original TWX sync by Earth is still in Swath v2.0
Now the Swath v2.0 has its own Swath to Swath sync.

Much faster and works well.
Unlike the TWX sync , the Swath sync will not transmit erroneous
data.

Many good things about it and some new things to come.

Let me make this clear , TWX sync or the Swath sync
have absolutely nothing to do with TWX even though the name
would seem to imply that.

The only way to give that info to TWX would be to manually
export your Swath data to the TWX proxy.

The Swath sync was added because the TWX sync was not stable with Swath.
Swath to Swath does work better and is great to use in early game
for sharing mapped areas and date between corpies.

I cant wait for the next beta where I'll be testing some new feature
you players will just love.

What's the URL you used to fetch the installer?

The one provided on the landing page, and under the 'Windows' tab does not work for me :

http://www.swath.net/downloads/SWATH_v2_0.exe

e.g.
Code:
user@host:~$ wget http://www.swath.net/downloads/SWATH_v2_0.exe
--2015-03-27 10:12:34--  http://www.swath.net/downloads/SWATH_v2_0.exe
Resolving www.swath.net... 12.197.26.4
Connecting to www.swath.net|12.197.26.4|:80... connected.
HTTP request sent, awaiting response... No data received.

however, the URL for the 1.9.8 installer works fine :

Code:
user@host:~$ wget http://www.swath.net/downloads/SWATH_v1_9_8.exe
--2015-03-27 10:12:50--  http://www.swath.net/downloads/SWATH_v1_9_8.exe
Resolving www.swath.net... 12.197.26.4
Connecting to www.swath.net|12.197.26.4|:80... connected.
HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 200 OK
Length: 8519680 (8.1M) [application/octet-stream]
Saving to: `SWATH_v1_9_8.exe'

100%[======================================>] 8,519,680    642K/s   in 14s

edit :

Hm. I just tried again from my office, and was able to pull down the 2.0 EXE. I suspect then that my home AV program must have placed a restriction on the 2.0 installer due to having flagged it as malicious.
