| Post subject: | Automated Ship Capture ZOC/REXX script syntax |
Hi all - I am writing a ZOC script to automate the process to capture - not destroy - Ferrengi and Alien ships. I have it almost all worked out except for one last detail: how to parse the Sector display to determine if a given ship is "blue", "red", or one of my own personal or Corp ships, before launching figs. In general, I only want to attack "red" ships. I have noticed something that might be useful to filter the ship list but not sure what it means: When issuing the "A(ttack)" command, the prompt returned by the server sometimes ends with "-g", for example: "Attack Atavachron [1]'s unmanned Merchant Cruiser (4,866-0) (Y/N) -g". What does the "-g" signify? I don't see it when attacking Ferrengi or other "red" alien ships. Does it indicate that the ship belongs to me or my corp, or does it mean it is a "blue" ship? In the example above, "Atavachron" is the name of the Corp that I am CEO of. If this "-g" is a clear delineator of "red" vs "blue" or personal ships, I can use it in a ZOCWAITMUX structure to test whether that ship should or should not be attacked. The context I am working in is that I can set up a fighter screen to funnel Alien and Ferrengi ships into a sector with a PIG, then come over in my ISS when there are a dozen or more ships trapped there, and capture them at my leisure. I am trying to construct my script to be fully automatic so I don't have to sit and watch it or do any keying other than starting it; but for this to work, it has to be able to recognize the difference between "red" and "blue" ships before launching the fighters - I don't want to attack a "blue" alien and thereby lose alignment. Thanks! |
