I did a very slight update to this twx build from the source elder prophet provided. i was able to get the portable version of dephi running and compiled the source.

the biggest issue i had with twx proxy was the silly dialog box that popped up every time it could not connect. which stopped all reconnects and just gave a unlimited pile of dialog boxes.

from looking at the code, it looks like EP put that in there at some point. So i just changed it from a message dialog to a client message into the terminal. that way it will still display on the screen. just not in the silly dialog popup box of doom.

now i have not tested it. but if you are tired of that thing too and feel like testing it. go ahead. otherwise use at your own risk.

hmm. file is too big to upload to here. will find another place

I'll test later.. but the idea of that dialog disappearing tickles me in places I can't discuss with fear of being moderated.

I would have tried to fix it, but Delphi makes me shudder. And not in a good way.

Same here... I did look at the source, and I couldn't follow it... The main file just loads a bunch of objects...

With this version, it does seem to have resolved the pop up windows (thank you!!) but introduced a new bug. Every time I start up, I get an error "TWX Proxy has encountered an error logging data sent from the server." and "logging disabled." Not sure if you made any other changes that might have caused this.

naw never did any other changes. but i'll see what i can find.

i loaded twx proxy and it loaded without an error. hmm. i'll still look into it though

I even started teh logging feature in twx proxy. both the binary and text only logging. quit twx proxy. started twx proxy.

no errors. connected toa server. disconnected. connected. dropped connection.

that error you are getting is happening from the Log portion. i didn't even look at that section lol

what settings are you using for twx proxy? and what were you doing when you received the error?

any information would be useful.

I'm running windows 10 here

if anything i'm finding i get a File nto found dialog. which i don't know where it is coming from. never ever seen that before lol

hmm. this File not Found is a weird error.

happens right after a script is loaded. but doesn't trigger until logged into the game.

i am almost just tempted to convince EP to just change his version he has to get rid of that dialog i removed on failed connection.

this is just a headache looking at the source pascal and using really old tools to code or look for code.


Update:

weird. the File not found alert is prompted right after a script is loaded. which makes no sense at all. cause it loaded the thing.

there must be something funny going on when i used the portabledelphi to compile.

and i get twx proxy out of memory errors now.

so i'd say this little "fix" is not working. haha

has to be due to the portable turbo delphi and the files it uses to compile the project. i can't see things being so buggy when i didn't even change a line that affects anything other than a dialog box.

way too many other issues popping up.

Yeah once I started playing the game I got the same thing. Random out of memory errors and other problems. Unfortunately it didn't work.

It did fix the popup issue though :)

Is it even possible to get the right software to compile this on a modern OS?

Or would it be better to run a old Windows on a VM?
