I found this script very helpful in cleaning up old databases.

Hi All, Strangely as of the last few days my TWX Proxy has decided I can not create databases of size 30k. I've got existing databases with 30k sectors. I've got a copy of the TWX Proxy on a different computer that lets me create 30k databases. So identical files as of 2 months ago; still works fine. Super strange, does anyone have any suggestions? I'm loathe to copy the other files to my computer as I don't want to break existing databases etc. However the big game is coming.. so I may have too. Cheers Hammer |

If you change the TWXProxy.exe you might have to remove the TWXSetup.dat file. Copy all of the TWX folder and remove the above mentioned file and try that. It's been a while since I've played but this dat file can create random problems. Good Luck!! |

One thing I'll add is, TWX tends to start popping up weird errors once you get a large number of databases piled up. To resolve this I generally have to go in and empty out all the games I'm no longer using from the data folder, and while I'm at it I purge all the leftover Mombot and other script files from \twx root folder as well. Miraculously it starts working fine again.. TWX I think is a bit lazy. "You expect me to remember all this crap, when you aren't even using it? Screw you, do it yourself." |

I believe the instructions on putting it in your twx root and make a desktop short cut of it to launch when your ready to clean house after games. And if you name your database like : CruncherA then all the data to be removed by ClearTWX would look like : CruncherA_Figs.txt , _ck_CruncherA.ports etc. It shows all the matching files to be deleted. Then you just confirm to delete files & it does them very quickly. |
