So. The holidays are here, and I thought I'd be the first to give a little something in the way of a simple script that might be useful.


PLAN9.ts - for making 1 Billion in less than 1,000 Turns.


The detail are in the TS file. I just finished running it on 180 Ports and made about 1.6Billion, so seems to run smoothly --albeit a few hours, heh.

I am guessing you need to use this with MoMbot?

Yep - That would be correct.

Mombot is a bit of a learning curve initially... but you don't HAVE to use all the features etc.

There is a thread at the top of this forum that Helix has which has a download with a heap of scripts/mombot etc.

Has some good features which makes life a lot easier and makes you more competitive.

Wish I knew how to run this thing, but being brand new to Swath and TWX Proxy I didn't have a prayer of understanding how to set it up and run it. I have a mobile planet with plenty of funds, but as far as anything else related to this.. yeah no idea.

The Menu you should see:

The script relies on Mombot for a few things. If, when you load the menu, you see: Planets/Sector: 0 ...indicates that a variable in the game CFG file is missing (created during MOMBot initial run). Determine what the max number of planets are in your game (via V screen), and add the following line anywhere in the game CFG file (found in the TWX\DATA folder):

$MAX_PLANETS_PER_SECTOR=N

...where N equals the max number of planets the game allows.

$MAX_PLANETS_PER_SECTOR=4

Aside from all that:

Make sure your SWATH lightbulb is Off (helper mode disabled), as well as update your CIM, Fighter, Limp, Armid, and WARP data beforing running the script. open LS_PLAN9.004.ts in a Text Editor, the comments at the top might help as well.

Can't think of anything else to suggest without seeing a scrren cap of what happens when you run the script.

P.S. The Ports.ts script in the ZIP file is not used by PLAN9; it's more of an accessory, you can delete it if you'd like.

After helping out Arminus to get this script working I found some 'bugs' which I've felt obliged to correct --I don't like releasing faulty stuff.

LS_PLAN9 Version 1.1
Fixes:
FIXED - Some versions of MOMBot appear to have different 'status report/update' message formats in STATUS command.
FIXED - Added Logic to obtain $MAX_PLANETS_PER_SECTOR value if not in CFG
CORRECTED - Msg "must be FED SAFE" ,... should say "must be commished", cause the script don't care if you get Dock Killed :)

I don't remember exactly when but JP changed that info and mombot was modified...... the version I was maintaining would work for all versions of TWGS. I can't speak for other versions since I left there have been a lot of people tinkering so it's possible someone wasn't worried about it working on an older version, of the people have an old copy of mom.
