How do other players feel about :

1) Server with no rules posted , wanting to enforce rules as the think up ...
and are still not posted ?

2) Sysop adding aliens into an active game (over 17 days old) ?
3) How do players feel about said same game being edited so there is
a time limit introduced without warning ?
4) Would it not be better to close game and rebang if that were the
way the SysOp wanted that game ?

So why is it some new sysops just don't get the message ?

I think they need to play a little at other server to get a feel of what they may want.

just my take on it.

I think there's a big difference between doing something with the intent to cheat and just not realizing how sensitive players can be to changes in an active game. If players speak up, I'm sure the lesson will be learned quickly. But you know as much as anyone that it's a thankless job to be a gameop, so don't be too harsh.

Ouch. That would be a quick walk with my feet.

I might even make a post-it with a server like that.
What a waste of time.

Bad/inexperienced players make the worst sysops.

Ok first let me say Jace's Night Club is currently rated at #17 with 13.58 years of history with Tradewars.

1. Jace's Night Club is a tribute to Tradewars.
2. Jace's Night Club was not added to Microblaster. Microblaster informed me he added me to the list. Never once did i advertise with him initially.
3. Jace's Night Club has only advertised on TW's Facebook page and wiki pedia, and AFTER microblaster added Jace's Night Club - Microblaster.
4. Jace's Night Club does not actively seek out players to play at the server.
5. Jace - the sysop of Jace's Night Club - does not play on any tradewars servers anywhere. I DO NOT PLAY THE GAME.
6. Any information obtained about the status of the game server is player generated. If that doesnt make sense to you let me spell it out - My players inform me of what is going on in the game. They bring up problems to my attention.
7. The aliens were activated because a player informed me that I needed to activate the aliens. I acted in the request of my player base.
8. I added the rule #1. No sitting in the game 24/7 using a script. BECAUSE MY PLAYERS ASK ME TO FIX THE PROBLEM.

I believe any gameop/sysop who actively engages there player base and builds a friendship with the player base. Grows a very nice server. Unfortunately, most game ops DONT HAVE A CLUE how to build a true player base. In my oppinion the #1 first best step is NOT TO PLAY on a game server. MY PLAYERS know that the server is fair and balanced. A GAMEOP is not "cheating".

All changes to Jace's Night club are the results of players.

Yes- Even the upgrade was a player request. From two different players. That is why MY PLAYER BASE does not care if the entire game was wiped out and they had to start over. THEY CHOSE THIS OUTCOME.

Learn to be a good gameop/sysop and your players will be VERY LOYAL.

I'm not sure why this has even become an issue. A gameop should not feel the need to come into this forum to defend his server. That's one of the reasons people stick to private sites rather than public. It doesn't need to be a public spectacle if a player has an issue with a game. Tell the gameop, and if you don't like how the gameop runs the site, there are plenty of others. It does no good to call out an op in a public forum, unless the goal is to keep others from hosting sites.

Personally, I'd like to see this thread locked. Vid and Jace both had their say. Let's leave it at that.
