Greetings from the desk of Scolfax.
I'm currently running a modified version of Dianora's ircd-hybrid irc server. It's available at irc.mustangpc.net on port 6665-6669. You'll need a chat client to access the service. It's the same ircd they use on EFnet.
User hostmasks are hidden upon connect, meaning nobody can see your IP address or your real host.
Services are currently running, that means you can register your nickname and register your channels. Once you register your nick/channel that means you own them. If somebody uses your nickname, you can have them killed with services. They will reclaim your nickname for you.
mIRC is probably the most widely used program to access IRC, however I realize some of you might be Linux-saavy so those people would be using clients like x-chat, BitchX or irssi.
Maybe some of you run linux and you want to run ircd and link with me? We definately could start up a little chat network geared towards gaming and/or twgs.
I hope this post was informational at the very least, and educational at best.
