Dangit girl. Was that a post from this year or last? I think maybe you are about 4398 posts behind.
Put your Butt up there. I'll post even more. [/P
lol, that avatar is the very reason I was late in replying. I was trying to read with one eye closed.
Actually, IE had to close on me just after I wrote a reply yesterday so it didnt' get posted.
edited to add P.S. Do you think we're gonna get spanked for posting off topic? and to remove one word that was repeated
lol---> such verbosity

Aren't IP bans of limited use in this day and age of dynamic IP
addressing? Also shouldn't there be some sort of due process involved
before one is initiated? I mean aren't here some guidelines for implementing such a ban?
I mean don't you have to break some rule in the forums before such measures are taken?
Just curious.

Well, I'm guessing one of the new rules is you can't have dupe accounts in this forum. I would say that having dupe accounts would render those accounts as bad accounts and could be deleted or banned. I haven't really seen the new rules so I can't say for sure. I'd suppose there would be acceptions to the rule, like if you had to create another account because you screwed up on the registration process, but a flagrant dupe account is another thing.

Now there is a question? Whats a dupe account? Is it an account that posts from the same IP address? Is it one that uses the same email address for verification? Is it a dupe if one stops using it? Can it be a dupe account if you use the account name to register a TWGS with the name?
Or is it like when playing TW, its a dupe if you are using more than one account at a time to post? Interesting questions all.

Well if it's like this forum, you can use web based email address's to sign up for new forum accounts, so that would be very easy to get around. IP's are more verifiable, but by far not perfect for finding a dupe accounts since many have dynamic IP's that change each time you connect to the internet. The best way I've found to verify dupes on my twgs server is to watch the person playing and see if they are using the same passwords for both accounts (many dupes do), watching to see if they are in the same sectors a lot (If not on the same corp), and if they are on the same corp watch to see if they use sub space for communication (not always true with IM's available these days). I take all this in conjuction with IP address's to verify dupes. However; the bottom line is I am the sysop, and if I think they are a dupe, that's all that matters. They are history in that game at least.

OK, I'll put in my .02 here.
Rules CAN be simple.
1. Show some respect to other players and allow them to post their thoughts without backlash. Some posts are simple questions or observations, others are more out there, but all are opinions of the poster.
2. Agree to disagree. You can post your reactions to posts, but keep them clean and non personal. (Smack excluded, that's why that forum is there).
Now, I think I played a few 1-2 games with Cernnunos before I got to involved trying to get my own site up. If he's who I remember playing with, he was a good player. I also respect him for trying to find out what the rules are, and respect him even more if once rules are found or made, he respects and plays by them. We can ALL do that!
Jeez,.. take a day out of the forums, and look what I miss!
