I use Firefox and there is a HUGE amount of space between the menu and the actual contents of the page....

The forums only officially work with IE. I don't think there are any plans to make them display correctly with any other browser.

They work with netscape and opera. Firefox must have some issues still. Maybe you should report it to the developers.

It is because the forum code for the pull down menus is using an older version of Javascript than Firfox can support. If you disable Javascript in Firefox it displays just fine minus the pull down menus.
I started using Firefox instead of IE some time ago myself because of spyware; there's no 3rd party way to protect IE completely that I've found yet and MS hasn't been especially helpful securing it. I haven't had a single spyware or adware infection on my XP box since I quit using IE altogether back in March.
