I had a thread that got out of hand. Oso moved it to Smack. Good thats his job. But once it was there, I edited all of my posts because I dont want what I posted in Smack.

Now my complaint.... He reposted my message in the thread after I removed it. Please have it removed. If I wanted the message in the smack forum I would have left it there.

And please have a talk with him about the ethical implications of reposting messages without the author's permission.

I,m not sure i completely understand your complaint...It seems ur upset ur post got sent to smack and then u delted and he reposted it...

I guess if he would of Quoted your post and responded to it THEN moved it you could still delete your post..But you wouldnt be able to delete his post Quoting yours....
My suggestions to him is to handle it in that way in the future...
However please realise that if he does it this way you wouldnt have any more control then u did when he reposted what you deleted.

SG since we are not playing 'what if' and he didn't quote me before I edited my message, please remove my message from his post in that that thread. How hard can it be since you agree it was wrong?

ya, but you deleted it, and your exact words were something like: "there, now try to have this thread make sense"
he was simply making the later posts make sense.

That is not the point, he re-posted a message I removed AFTER the thread was moved to Smack, without my permission. And in doing so clearly abused his power as a moderator since he is NOT a moderator in the Smack forum and once it was there he should have left it alone.

You can't tell me that you would be okay with one of the moderators reposting one of your messages that you chose to remove from a thread.

Well, by posting your messages in this forum originally with the understanding that there are moderators present you are agreeing, in part (or so it could be easily argued) to allow them to moderate as they see fit. Your original posting could be construed as giving permission to have such content placed under your name.

Obviously you feel offended by this. But might you be blowing it... just... a bit... WAY out of proportion? Oso did what he did to moderate a post that he felt was a bit out of hand (his call as a mod). That's not abusing his "power" as a mod (laff).

Would I be ok with it? I dunno... I might be a bit embarrased, but I'd get it over about a half-hour later. Your complaint essentially amounts to the fact that instead of using the quote tags, he just copy and pasted your message in directly. You're getting all bent out of shape over the use of quote tags.

Granted, net-ettiquite wise, perhaps it wasn't the best thing in the world to do (yea, I prolly wouldn't have done it) but have you considered just ICQing Oso and asking him to erase the message? Or asking him to maybe re-edit his message and put in the quote tags?

Well i would except i dont think what he did was wrong...I think he did it the wrong way but i think the end result is exactly the same. sorry if u disagree bro.....He has a right in Smack to post anything he pleases...Same as you..So if he wants to post your words in a new message in smack after you deleted it..I think its his right to do so....Just as its your right to complain about it....In Smack he cant Edit your post and you can't edit his post. He has a right to Quote (manually or otherwise). 
 

The issue I am complaining about happened after he did his job as a moderator.  He moved it to Smack, thats his call and his job.

So then he wasn't acting as a moderator when he made his post? How's that an abuse of his "power" ?
