Cern is correct, this area is idiotic. Hereunder my "permissions":

You can post new topics in this forum
You cannot reply to topics in this forum
You cannot delete your posts in this forum
You cannot edit your posts in this forum
You cannot create polls in this forum
You cannot vote in polls in this forum

I cannot do anything in this area, other than make a new topic? I cannot edit or delete mine own posts, which might have been heated and inappropriate? I cannot reply to other posts?

Only mods and admins can reply to the grievances area. This is to prevent this area from degrading into a smack or open discussions area. This area is not for open discussions, there are other areas for that. This area is for people to make an open statement, not to start a discussion.

If you are worried about your grievances being too heated then my suggestion would be to sit on your hands for a few hours until you have had time to rethink your position, then post a factual account to describe the nature of your grievance. Such an approach would surely attract more positive attention and yield better results.

While the lack of edit ability might unintended (a lot of things are, I really don't know) it does have the side effect of telling the admins exactly how hot-headed the complainer is... giving them good insight on the credibility of the grievance.

While I suppose you could always post your reply as another thread, bypassing this technical restriction, I'm pretty sure that'd get your access to the area removed completely.

The intent of the area is to let people voice their complaints without interference from other users.
