So, what's the deal lately with this Daily Log software more and more of you are using? Haven't ya'll figured out yet, it seems to be nice looking and a bit of helpful info but VERY annoying to the player base? The bit of possible info that can be gleaned from it doesn't even make up for the constant lag downs and being knocked off line 12 times an hour. Exspecially on those servers who are running it every 5 minutes or less, this is becoming a severe problem. So cut it out please, or at least be sensible enough to make it hourly or some such.
Oh, and while we're at it, please tell your kiddies to stop downloading the newest gangsta' rap videos on the server pc while there are 10+ players on line. You know who you are...

In my case, it's not the software,.. It's my DSL provider.  They can't seem to provide me a signal that doesn't drop sync.  It goes for days really well, then starts dropping, sometimes as often as every 5 minutes.  I've treatened a switch to cable,. but I'm affraid it would require a different modem/router setup, and I've just got to where I've got good pings, and hate to switch, and I know cable has it's own set of issues.
When I originaly tested DarkNights software I was uploading the stats and that required bandwidth and caused lag.  I now host the page local, so it's not uploading the stats, and doesn't eat the bandwidth.
I've been downloading a crapload of files lately for some upgrades, so that unfortunatly does create some lag.  I've only got 1 connection to share.  Can't afford a dedicated connection to the TWGS system.  Sorry.
I've been given the number to ATT Maintenance direct, and they hear from me every time the connection starts to drop repeatedly.  But sofar there has been no permanent solution.  There's not much I can do on this end.  They were trying to tell me it was something in my network, so I configured everything offline and hooked up so it was ONLY the TWGS server online and connected to the network, and it still did it,.. so I've got no other good ideas.

RP all that will change if you go to cable is the modem, the router will not need to be changed, I had the same issues with dsl and went to cable on my internet, and so far have been satisfied, Comcast had its issues at start, but got them straightened out soon, and I haven't thought of going back to dsl.

Router will change if its a DSL modem/Router combo  This netopia has been awsome for pings, and I hate to change to another router because of it.  What would be a fast router to use with a cable modem?
I'm not sure, but I think its that its a combo modem/router is part of what makes it so fast.

Lag is not about bandwidth, it is about CPU processes. Why you would want to update stats every 5 minutes is beyond me. I could see it if you were running a tourney (at least for that one game)

So who are you doing this for? Certainly not the players. They want to play not sit and wait for the next stat update.

I was watching last night, My cpu load was no greater than 60% with about 10-12 players online, and my stats running.  So I can't figure that's the load issue.  Before I KNOW it was bandwith, cause I was uploading those stats to my FTP site, and every time it ran I could see the bandwith peg.  Right now, bandwith and cpu are still running fine.
If you EVER experience lag on my site, please icq me so I can check it then and there to find out what's causing it.

ahhh, I see, on your router, I use a router that will use dsl or cable, of course it is seperate from the modem, laff. Sorry for that, when I went to your server before the game program you had on, there was good connection, I haven't tried it since, and if you got the issue worked out, then I would say stay with the dsl.
