There's a simple answer - dump Microsoft. Quality wise their products are horrible, and getting worse. This is the reason why when I decided to do some more TW programming I didn't buy a Microsoft compiler. I paid more, but I got something that's rock solid, doesn't mess up memory, and actually works. I know this is going to sound insulting, but anyone who runs a web site depending upon Microsoft software deserves whatever they get. OK, you are stuck with Windows to run TWGS. But for a web server go to Apache, and use either PostgressSQL or MySQL for your database, it'll save you a lot of agro. |

The serve has apache and windows on it. but ehe microsoft fun he was referring to was the engine that access uses. and I agree, access is crap. mssql is better and mysql rocks, I wish the EIS site could use mysql, then it would be way more stable. Vulcan |

Vulcan My laptop runs Ubuntu now - no BSOD. My daughter's laptop is running Mandriva. No BSOD. The boys are into WOW, so they are running Windows XP, and their computers cause more problems then they are worth (as far as I'm concerned, however they are both legal adults, so they can run whatever they want). My TWGS computer is still running XP, however I've disabled a lot of services. The computer is NOT allowed to autoupdate. Hell, it's not even allowed to look at a Microsoft website - a HOSTS file is a wonderfull thing. Yeah, I'm paranoid. I've been messed up by Microsoft before, and it ain't happening again. |
