Why would the mod lock a forum that isn't meant for smack talk? Why not just move the smack talk out of the thread and leave it unlocked?
That would be too easy I suppose.

It is a moderator's privilege to lock (or delete) a thread.

Users who dislike the mod's calls, at some length, vote with their feet and the forum dies.
