Unread post Running TWGS under WINE
I am running TWGS under WINE. The TW works just fine, but I want to use a TW helper app.

But Swath cannot connect to the TradeWars game.

I created a game, tested it, then launched Swath, but it could not connect to the game:

Authentication <Primary server>... OK

Connect to localhost on port 23... Failed!
<<< Connection closed >>>

I noticed that, in the TradeWars Game Server window, there is the following:

Creating player listener. . .
Querying server IP addresses. . .
Autodetecting server IP address. . .
Error binding player listener (10013)
Closing player listener. . .
Cleaning up. . .

I think this means that a player listener is not created and that TWGS is not listening at ports 23 or 2003. Is that correct?

If so, is there another way to turn on listening?

Thanks,

By default, TWGS uses port 2002 for player connections.
