I think Stockton was asking does Vet = Elite. Which is what some people take Vet to mean.

Just Kidding around and realy I think of a vet as a player that has been around and knows how things run and an elite as a player that has been around that knows the things the vets needs to know,and the ones that can pod anyone, unless playing another elite, then the podding goes to the one who doesn't make the mistake.

i don't think it matters how long one is around to make one an elite.
it just so happens that most elites have been around a long time.
a vet, ya, that is someone who has been around.
but who is the deciding comittee who decides who has been around long enough to be a vet or who is good enough to be an elite?

i won best new player in 04 as i really was unknown any other time and never got off any backwater servers or learned anything about the game.
as for the awards, i think kemp has been doing most of the work for a while now, and more than likely he will continue the awards on.
if he needs help i'd help him as i am sure many others would.
most improved, ya i tied for fourth, i got beat my jher (heh) and barely beat oz (heh)
of course, in the best new player 2nd place was jher, heh.
awards can get... confused sometimes since some people vote who have no idea who some people are
heck, most people didn't believe i was new
i think they were just mad cause they got pwned by a newb, hehe.
you'll see how whack they are when for the 05 awards, Xide is still on the ballet for, well, anything other than TWX, heh.
he may be a great blue/killer/etc... but he is done, heh.
*maybe* (and this would require some sort of a concensus) we could have kemp decline nominations for those who are officially retired.
during the nomination part, we could have a catagory, yes or no, should we allow retired people to be placed in active catagories (ie: Xide for best killer)

now of course you come to an area like, well, oz and jher both are done... but played off and on for a while for half a year... do they get by? where do we draw the line? etc...
