I was wondering today i always hear everybody jabbering about who is the best so here it is i want all in this forum to vote here please on who actually is the best Perma Corp,Single player, and team player,best Teacher and biggest smack talkers for the whole Tw2002 community i just want to see a general census of what you all think???

Sounds like you want the Trade Wars Awards results :) You might want to check out http://tavern.homeip.net. The link to 2003 results will give you a listing of several categories voted on last march for the best of 2003. For the categories you listed, it was Space Tyrants for best perma, prestone for best solo, me for best overall (not sure which you meant by single), me for best teacher and best team player, and we didn't feel that "smack talking" was anything worth giving an award over, so there was no voting on it. Check out the link for all the other categories that were voted on, including things like best red, best blue, best server, and best sysop.

Thank you, But i am on the Tav all the time and have read that but what i was looking for was a more in depth than just names i want reasons too for why people think These players/permas are where they are in everybodys respect or at least most peoples respect. I want the Vibe of the Community...

I still think you want the awards. There were voter comments left for most of those voted for. If you click the nick, you'll see the comments, why people voted for them, stuff like that.

well, i think pain realizes that i am unreal and yet i am not on the awards, so he is confused :) heh, i was afk for a couple years ;) also maybe pain has heard or read (as i have read, i think even maybe somewhere on here) that the "awards" are just popularity contests (which is why im gonna win EVERYTHING next year) :) as i know very little on how voting goes on (IE:who gets to vote, how it gets narrowed down to the people you see on that site etc..) maybe kemp you could elaborate on the process and put all of us at ease :)

Anyone who wanted to could vote. We had a nomination process, then we took the top 5 in each category (more if there was a tie for 5th, less if there were only 3 or 4 that got more than one nomination), then put them up for a general vote. The one with the most votes won. As to a popularity contest, perhaps in the past they were, but I don't think so anymore (at least on the player awards). Something like "Best Sysop" is always going to be a popularity contest. As far as I could tell, it was always one of the best that won each of the categories.

ya, thats what i said. heh.
and yes, Slim Shady will win every catagory with all votes, heh. even the script writing catagory :) (the people who have discussed script writing with me now are all laughing their asses off)
kemp, who puts on the awards? can anyone nominate someone (from your post it looked as though that is a no, so who nominates?)

Cherokee and I have run them the last 2 years. It has been an open nomination process. Anyone can nominate anyone, then we go through and count them and stuff. Figure out that "vader's server" is the same as "blacksun," that sort of thing.
