lol - I'm already playing in the game and was suggesting a possible merger since we started late in the game and have the earning potential but are behind on resources. However we've just added another member to our corp so a merger won't work due to the corp size limit. Guess we'll just have to be the underdogs

you may want to tell the Op to upgrade his twgs at some point, he is using 3.11.55 which has many bugs.
i read the rules, i didnt see anything where the op is saying its for newbs only and such, but ya, the edits and settings speak for themselves. not a game i personally would play.
(i will however not rant about whats bad or this or that, as the Op isnt here anyway, so it wont matter)

Interesting seeing this discussion had gone on here. I am one of those so-called better players that was supposedly scared and got the sysop to get you to leave? I think it is more likely that some of them knew of your "Community" and your style of play, and let the sysop know that it did not fit within the sysop's guidelines for this game.

I asked you to stay and told all they should too as it would only be sauce for the goose, to make the game better. What is not discussed here by anyone, starting with havoctl, is that this game B was designed by the sysop to be a game in which newbs were encouraged to play, taught by better players, etc. There were 3 large corp's there who were free to go after each other as much as they want, just don't fry the newbs that can't defend themselves or don't know better, and no blockades.

I have spent no (Zero) time ever reading these boards until I was referred here today, and I expect I will not be back. Until recently I have found ICE9 to be a great place to play, and again, until recently, Game B for which havoctl was recruiting was extremely active with many players of all caliber.

A recent addition of some new players (a little before this post string started) that had no respect whatsoever for the Sysop's wishes began the precipitous decline of the game. I will be happy to point them out. They go by the names of Scorpion and Mantis.

Our outfits let them be, as requested by the sysop. Besides, what's the point in roasting even oustanding players if they have nothing?
They built themselves working over smaller, lesser talented players, ones that needed help to learn. Bottom feeders.

Today we've discovered that they and another group have been exploiting the so-called "Alien Bug" to get their planets filled up for them. The other group is the one that includes havoctl who started this post string. Until today, I had no idea there was such a Bug, and could not figure out why they had to keep reinvading their planets. And until today I had some respect for these players as good traders. No longer.

Is this a "flame," maybe it is. I consider it a public service to the so-called "Community" mentioned by Vader. If this "Community" is the kind that thinks exploiting this bug is OK, or joining a game without reading the Sysop's posted rules for that game, and then complaining later that it does not match their style of play and they were asked to leave, then this "Community" should maybe take a look at itself.

Vader, this response isn't to you as much as it is to all those around here that read it. Not everyone wants to be involved in unlimited turn, 10 day cutthroat games. If you do, fine, stick to them. But TW is a game that can be played many, many different ways and set-up by the guy that runs the game as he sees fit.

Actually Slim, it's just an offshoot of the other post found under ice9. Havocatl was just trying to recruit experienced players into what was suppossed to be a newbie game. Wiley was one of the players who was affected by the closure of a game the sysop determined was no longer a game, due to cheating. If you are truly interested in "talking" to the sysop of this board then try writing to him. He does respond to everyone else who has written him. If not, let it go. I don't think he is going to come to you. For some reason he chooses not to be a member here. Perhaps you could change his mind. Who knows? As far as the topic being old. This topic was brought here by one person who has chosen to be disruptive to purpose of the ice9 board. No one was intersted in responding to the posts here even though we all knew about them. Now we choose to respond. Ohh well.

First of all Gualala, you have NEVER been courteous to me. You have been quite the opposite. Trying to play off like your a REGULAR player, when in fact, its your board and you make the rules as you see fit.

Like i said in another post, and like i'v told you before. You should "REVISE" your rules. NOWHERE on your site does it say ANYTHING about leaving newbies alone and that this was a game for newbies to play without worrying about invasions...etc..etc.

Now if you would have made your rules CLEAR, maybe this CONFUSION would have been avoided, and i would have left your newbie game after awhile. But i Play to WIN and i was determined to WIN... i didn't find out till MUCH LATER in the game what YOUR rules really were.

I will quote you what you said when Shazam and I asked you to revise your rules... your exact words were "I don't have to do a goddamn thing".

It all boils down to BAD MANAGEMENT of your site. If you don't want this to happen again, i suggest you take my advise and get off your Butt and do something about it, unless you like contraversy like this.

Last but not least, i'm sorry that I invaded 1 planet from 1 newbie in your newbie game which i started as a newbie. Maybe you should just BOOT the players that catch on quick and let the noobes that "just can't learn" after 180 days stay and play.

Havocatl perhaps you should check the other post on ice9. I am not the sysop of ice9. However, the bug you used to try to "win" is addressed there as well as the issue of whether or not I am the sysop. Perhaps you should let the people on this forum know that you knew it was a newbie game and were informed of the rules early in the game. As a matter of fact, it was well before you started trying to recruit experts here. I will never need to work for Donald Trump. I run my own sucesful business. You keep pondering over rules you knew existed early in the game and spent the whole game trying to "skirt" around. The fact is, you recruited 5 additional players from here into what you knew was a newbie game in an attempt to vastly change the odds in your favor. When that still did not work, you resorted to cheating, by using a bug. You were caught, and the game ended. Get over it.
