Has anyone made any progress on Alien AI within the TWGS? How would one edit it?

I'm working on a edit part-time on my server and the Alien Manager is kinda foreign to me. Any suggestions?

The actual alien AI has never been activated by John P.
But the gold alien server has some onboard setting that can be controlled.
The main one is the Alien Race Editor 's spawning profile.

Also one of the most difficult to understand.
Thawn may have a online help for this .. maybe he will pipe in. (hint hint)

I have not quite gotten to the tutorial on the Alien spawning just yet, but it is on my list of topics to cover.

I know you can manipulate the Aliens in the Spawning profile. Some things I did was:

- manipulate the experience for the races, in other words gave them anywhere from 0-1800 exp.
- alignment set to either positive for good or negative for evil
- corbomite set high so aliens could inflict some better damage to players attacking them.
- figs and shields were left alone, unless you want to give them high figs and shields

Some settings have formulas you choose to get the desired setting. Ideally it would have been nice and simple if the TWGS had a setting in the Alien editor to either have them go strictly red or blue only.

Play around with the settings and see what happens when you encounter them. That's pretty much all I did on our TWGS to get them where I was happy with them.

I will get the tutorial completed as soon as the other items on my list are completed. I am also dealing with mud slides, floods in our neck of the woods and evacs for this month with work so I'll try to get things done and post to you once all is done.

Actually you can make the aliens stricly red or strickly blue. It's all in chosing the right formula and setting the numbers in the forumula correct. It's hard to explain, but if you look at the original Star Trek edit, I set one of the races to be strictly red.

Interestingly enough the edit I'm working on is a Star Trek Edit also.. Go Figure..
