Post subject:  Mystery Escape Pod

I've noticed twice in the past months that after invading and capturing planets in sectors that have gone rogue that after I move a captured planet to a different sector an escape pod shows up in that sector. The escape pod is named EXTERN, has no fighters, and ranked as Civilian with no name. You can't tow it because it's not yours. If you try to attack it, you get a message 'is no longer aboard this ship. Aborting combat' flashing red, which I find weird since you should be able to attack an unmanned ship. The escape pod will even occasionally follow you into an adjacent sector when moving your ship.

Has anyone ever seen this before and know a way to get rid of it? I am wondering if somehow the pod is a 'ghost' of a player who may have been in the citadel when things went rogue.

Yes.

It is know as the extern bug. Sometimes usually in older games, when a player gets deleted the ghost remains in the last sector that, that player was in. tho ive never heard of it moving. that is new. what game and server is it on?

Your server game H SK. The most recent one didn't show until I moved Ferrengal to it's current location. It then moved to the adjacent sector after I moved. It has been there since. Also the 'death/pod' bug is still happening in that game as well.
