The 3 games I edted are now active for your pleasure!

Thanks Night Hawk for asking. Earlier I was not able to activate games from remote sysop, now I'm able to.

Good luck on these, Cruncher.

If there are any bugs or issues with the Beta server games, please post here. Include any details to the "bug" or problem so we can narrow down the actual issue.

I'll keep this thread as a sticky for now.

Night Hawk was experiencing very bad lag tonight, he described it as typing a whole line of text, then it would appear.

He checked his ping and was getting 150 - 200
I wasn't lagging like he was but when I checked my ping was getting 25% - 75% packet loss.

It did "feel" a little choppie. We were in the Old School game, he left for one of the other games and had the same response. He felt the lag was too bad, and was unplayable. I did not have the same lag issues he did.

Your cpc is set to 1 in that game, might have something to do with it.. Server gets wonky with really really low cpc's, try like 5-10 you will still get the desired result of fragmenting scripts which will "help" deter scripters.

To elaborate on what Cruncher was saying...

it wasn't necessarily lag, it was "choppy".

A couple examples...

I would type out a long sentence (i type fast) and the text scrolling on the screen was always 5-10 letters behind me.

Another example... ppting by hand with no haggle... you know (* = enter) p*****<p*****<p*****... etc like 5 times in a row, would take like 10 seconds for the game to catch up to my commands.

And similar to the last example... busting plants by hand in sets of 5... would type it all out and would take atleast another 15 seconds to complete my keystrokes.

Again ping was 150-200.

It's the freaking CPC. 1 CPC will do that, it's a miserable experience.

Ping has nothing to do with your issues, the issue at hand is Cruncher set the commands per cycle in your game to 1. I'm sure its possible to be a bug, never know... but its likely the cpc setting.

Essentially she in a attempt to prevent scripting has limited the amount of commands the server can recognise per second to 1. Can't speak for you but I can type faster than 1 character per second.

Would be better to set CPC to 40+ and set the ship delay mode to normal or quarter.

Ship delay makes scripts more powerful, I think that's the opposite of what
she wants. CPC of 5 to 10 is good for manual games. If you go lower than 5,
icky things happen.

Bear with me guys, this is the first time I've edited a game for the public.

M002 - unlimeted cpc
High Edits - 40 cpc
Old School - 20 cpc


Let's see how this feels.

The first 3 games up were all set at 20 cpc
