I just spotted something weird ...

1) Buy a carbo scout made personal .. move it to a safe place to blow it up.
2) get a pod carrying ship , corp .. with 10 figs on it and place in same sector.
3) xport into pod carrying ship and attack the carbo ship.

you create nav haz in sector you blew up the carbo ship and there is a nav haz
in the sector you flee into.

Is this new ? or did I always miss this because I normally do this at dock ?

Just checking if this might be something new that cropped into twgs beta.
This was in a beta server.

Test & Training Game on my server. I get same result, never seen it before but like you I typically do this at dock. I ended in 9988 which on the way in was clean with "0" Haz.

I loaded the Non- Beta and result.

Sector : 12614 in uncharted space.
Ships : Corb [Owned by] Tinker, w/ 0 ftrs,
(Mainstay Ltd Mercedes Skiff)
Warps to Sector(s) : (3695) - 9988

Command [TL=00:00:00]:[12614] (?=Help)? : A
<Attack>
You release the ship in tow before initiating the attack.
Attack Tinker's unmanned Mercedes Skiff (10-0) (Y/N) [N]? Yes
How many fighters do you wish to use (0 to 10) [0]? 10

You lost 1 fighter(s), 9 remain.
The other ship was booby trapped with Corbomite devices!
The console reports damages of 40 battle points!
Life Support knocked out! Energy generation shut down!

Your Corbomite Devices DESTROYED Tinker

you receive 2382 experience point(s).
You have been promoted to Chief Warrant Officer!
you LOSE 2382 experience point(s).
You have been demoted to Ensign!
You rush to an escape pod and abandon ship...
Your Eagle 5 has been destroyed!

Your trusty Escape Pod is functioning normally.
For getting blown up you LOSE 714 experience point(s).
Sector 12614 will now be avoided in future navigation calculations.
Excellent, you have obliterated the target!
...In fact, TOO excellent! You can't salvage anything from it!

Command [TL=00:00:00]:[9988] (?=Help)? :
<Re-Display>

Sector : 9988 in uncharted space.
Ports : Hestia III, Class 2 (BSB)
NavHaz : 1% (Space Debris/Asteroids)
Warps to Sector(s) : 8110 - 12614 - 17452 - 17518 - 25708

Command [TL=00:00:00]:[9988] (?=Help)? :

So it creates debris in both sectors? That doesn't sound right if it does.

Ok, that's fixed. What was happening was when the attacking ship was destroyed, it generated navhaz for that ship, then the pod fled to another sector. Then the game proceeded to deal with the original ship's destruction, generating NavHaz in the current player's sector which is now where the pod fled. Now that it's fixed, the navhaz will be generated for both ships in the original attack directory, so there will be 2% navhaz rather than 1% for each sector.
