So dunno if this is a new thing or what but sure looks like something buggy to me….

I’m sitting here trying to cap and alien that warps in in the same ship I’m in … a Heavy Curser. Hold 75K figs and 5K shields but the alien only had 50K figs…but here’s what happened and it was with the planet shown above with those settings….
_____________________________________________________________________________
a Pirate ship lands on Angry Joe.
Quasar Cannon on Angry Joe blasted Pirate Pirate Henry Morgan for 24442 points (
atmos)
Pirate Pirate Henry Morgan destroyed 3785 of your fighters on planet Angry Joe
Pirate Pirate Henry Morgan invaded and captured Angry Joe
Pirates claimed Angry Joe

Active Combat Control system detected:
The Quasar Cannon on Angry Joe locks on you and fires!
Quasar Blast!
The console reports damages of 87996 battle points!
Life Support knocked out! Energy generation shut down!

Now after it landed, I landed and hit me a hell of a lot harder…. I asked the sysop to go look and he wouldn’t give me specifics on how much fuel and what not was still left on the planet but his answer is “nothing buggy here“…. Only it sure looks buggy to me. Almost looks like the atmos hit the alien as if it were sector cannons and hit me as atmos.

You would really need to know the amount of gas that was on the planet after the alien claimed it. I do know that after aliens claim planets they will add product to that planet, sometimes immediately. I think JP changed it to where they only add product to planets that are higher level planets, but in this case it was a higher level planet.

Non mbbs atmos @ 10% would have been 24k blast...which is what alien recieved.

Mbbs setting would have been 131k....So the alien must have change the setting.

What was the atmo setting after u got the planet back? Was it still 10%?

and how much fuel was left?

I'll look at the code that's handling the Quasar blast because it's done in two places. When the alien landed, it was handled in the Gold alien server code. When you landed, it was handled in the TW game code. To completely different sets of code, so I'll check to verify that they're perfectly consistent. I'll give you an update in a bit.

Ok, this is a nice catch, guys. Good call on the MBBS vs standard setting, Parrothead. Here's what's going on. The normal game code switches between MBBS and standard ore calculations, but the Gold alien version of that code never got updated, so it's using the standard version. This would account for the discrepancy if the game is set for MBBS mode. If it isn't, then I'm not sure. I'm going to go ahead and fix this so that the Gold alien processing takes into proper account the MBBS mode setting.
