ideas for future development
1.) individual players loose sole rights to their turns, when they join a corp. we do this already thru bots... so we could simplify the turn use by dumping all indivual player turns into a corporate pool of turns. Thus, any corporate member could play all corporate turns in a pinch.
2.) create your own starter ship. cash on hand is slightly increased, at start of game. By replying to a series of questions at ship initialization, it would be possible to alter your starter ship. Lean it toward trading with defence or increase the attack potential... and a density scanner should be available within the startup options. This would increase game play for weaker players and put a stop to the (occasional) practice of... "first player in the game, locks it down"
3.) offline active defence when logging off for the night... you answer a few questions concerning your defence. The server remembers your replies and will act as your surrogate. This offers a player a much better chance of surviving while offline. Basic defence.
4.) buffer player speed thru server slow those 120 pings down... create an even playing field for all players... everyone's connection speed is slowed to 200 ping as it flows thru the server.
5.) turn use if buying down 131 portings of equip. ... it would be better to negotiate the purchase in one buy (we do this when selling bulk during planet trade, at present)... the 131 turns required are removed from your total and the purchase is perfomed immediately.
6.) the underground the feds must be winning, because the underground is pathetically weak. An improved underground where a red can buy an alien ship, or a spoofed iss
As i see it, part of the problem with tradewars is: "long hours in the chair!" Some of the above suggestions are designed to reduce the time required to play... other's are seen as a natural progression in game developement.

[quote] that gives one person too much control, especially if a corpie goes and backstabs you...
