I've noticed a lag when entering the game before you put your password in. is this an intentional pause to make you read any info that may be present? or is there internal processing causing the lag? |

It may have something to do with the setting that delays daily logs from displaying real-time. |

It may be the change that was put in place that actually closes and opens the game from that menu. So if you drop out of the game the menu it completely closes the files, that might be what your seeing. |

There are a few ways that pauses can appear. I don't think there's anything with the logs that would cause a delay. If you're leaving the game and dropping to the start menu, there can be a short delay, depending on system load, as TW is restarted. But I think the most likely thing you're seeing is a timeout with TW calling the EIS server for announcements. If the message is not returned for 2 seconds, it times out and continues with the login. So if the server is failing to reach the EIS server for any reason, you'd see up to a 2 second delay right there before the login. |

No, that's not it. When entering the game, there is a pause before you can enter your password. I just assumed (I know I shouldn't have) that it was a result of having the daily logs on a delay. This is on my server if you want to see this behavior. |

It does appear to be the EIS announcement download timeout, but it appears to be a longer timeout than I intended. I'll have a look at that. It shouldn't make you wait more than a couple of seconds, because the announcement isn't important enough to wait for if it's not there right away. |
