I noticed that you put Enable Mega Rob Bug. I think the word bug should be removed. At that point of enabling it, it's no longer a bug but intended. While it may have been an unintended part of play, it is an expected way of play for a lot of games.

It was originally a bug, so I think the wording should remain the way it is.

Yeah, that's why I used that wording. There is a lot of debate about whether or not it was a bug. It is. I have a setting to emulate it. There should be no confusion about whether or not it's legitimate to use, because it is a setting, whether it's called a "bug emulation" or not.

There is some debate about whether some "features" are or were bugs, but this is not one of them. This is one of the very clear cut cases of a bug. I just wanted the description to provide some historical perspective on where the setting comes from.

Is there a Havoc bug setting too?

I'm not familiar with that. How did it work?

Go to Stardock and buy a Havoc, then buy a Transwarp 1. (No tow capacity)
Don't go anywhere, and sell it right back.
The (bug) game would give you funds for a Type 2 Transwarp.

Free money (about 20k) + 0 turns used = alot of upset players
Most of the time, it was easy to spot the usage.
You would see a new player enter and existing game, and generate millions on their 1st day.
Beating on the established players.

It was usually the game players that policed this problem.
The players could only report what was happening to the sysop.
The hard part was getting the sysop to do something about the offending player.

Interesting.

It's funny how that was frowned upon, but another tactic today is considered "part of the game". With certain Gold edits, a planet can be created with an initial quantity of ore. That ore can be sold for an immediate profit and the planet discarded. That seems to me to be the same thing, but there are game edits specifically designed around this "farming".

I added an option to restrict the use of initial product so gameops can disable this tactic if they choose to. Using this setting, initial product can't be removed until a Citadel has been built.

How about if you have to port 500 times before you can resell a ship that you bought?

I don't think ship resale is an issue right now, is it?

No, that was an old High Velocity bug, in MajorBBS.
